Whole blood from healthy young rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) Breeds: New Zealand White and/or California White that are 8-12 weeks of age, either sex, and fasted at time of slaughter, is mixed with 25 ml 2.5% Sodium EDTA then QS to 250 ml with blood. The plasma is separated from the blood cellular components by centrifugation. The plasma is pooled, bottled, and stored at or below -10 °C.
